ALUMNI RELATIONS OFFICER

Maryknoll School

 

JOB SUMMARY: The position of Alumni Relations Officer is responsible for the cultivation of alumni, successful implementation of alumni programs, and the coordination of alumni for Maryknoll School fundraising events.  The Alumni Relations Officer is a team member of the Office of Institutional Advancement and reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

 

Build Relationships between Alumni & Maryknoll

  • Work to create an active, involved, and supportive alumni body.

  • Coordinates various alumni events throughout the year.

  • Act as Secretary to the Alumni Council and support the President and Officers of the Council in the coordination and implementation of alumni programs.

    • Attends all Alumni Council, Events, and Ad Hoc meetings and distributes minutes in a timely manner.

  • Recruit, train and manage the class agent network.  Meet with network regularly.

  • Organize decade reps to collect alumni news/class notes on a quarterly basis.

  • Build strong relationships with alumni and related constituencies for the purpose of friend-raising.

  • Recruit reunion chairs and assist them with successful reunion planning.

  • Recruit chairs for and manage all alumni events including golf tournament, bowling, alumni luau, Memorial Mass, Holiday Homecoming, kupuna program, and others.

 

Manage Alumni Communication

  • Manage alumni communication channels with technology and resources (Graduway, Blackbaud onProducts, myMaryknoll, push pages, etc.).

  • Ensure updated information and events on school website, myMaryknoll, Maryknoll Knect, alumni social media, and other information sources.

  • Create quarterly newsletters, alumni letters, PushPages, and other documents. Ensure at least one form of communication to alumni is being sent per month.

 

Assist with Fundraising from Alumni

  • Assist in identifying potential donors from the Alumni community.

 

Weekend and evening work required.

Applicant Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Alumnus/alumna of Maryknoll School
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven capacity to plan, organize, and implement a variety of projects at the same time and with overlapping deadlines
  • Independent thinking and decision-making within established rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively set priorities and define tasks
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with constituents
  • Strong and effective writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Event coordination experience
  • Maintaining confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an alumni office (independent/Catholic school experience a plus)
  • Experience in recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Social media experience
  • Familiar with Maryknoll School alumni and school events
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud onProducts, Graduway, Raiser’s Edge NXT, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), Adobe Products, Turbo Meeting Video Conferencing, Dropbox

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Full-time, year-round (12-month employee) with accrued vacation. Exempt.
