GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The teacher collaborates in the effective operation of a Catholic education program by supporting the goals and spirit of Catholic education in general and the school programs in particular; ensuring an effective instructional program; continuing in professional growth; encouraging student educational growth.

A teacher is expected to have competencies in the following major areas:
I. COMMUNITY OF FAITH
A. Supports and implements the mission/philosophy of Catholic education and the school
B. Gives evidence of lived Gospel values
C. Participates in building faith community
II. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESS
A. Demonstrates an understanding and implementation of Common Core Mathematics Standards and Next Generation Science Standards
B. Demonstrates developmentally appropriate cognition, observation and interpretation instructional methods.
C. Evaluates student progress effectively, maintains accurate records of student growth, and communicates regularly with students and parents
D. Adjusts curriculum and instruction to provide for individual differences and learning styles
E. Demonstrates ability to motivate and connect with students at the middle school level
F. Maintains a positive environment that allows students to learn, collaborate, and connect with others.
G. Knows and uses technology appropriately extending lessons into the digital space by utilizing school platforms.
III. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
A. Demonstrates professional and appropriate behavior when interacting with administrators, colleagues, families, and teachers.
B. Adheres to guidelines outlined in the faculty handbook
C. Participates in schoolwide events and functions noted by the academic calendar
IV. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Maintains a professional manner in the classroom and other related settings
B. Follows all school procedures and policies
C. Demonstrates professional responsibility and leadership
D. Reports any knowledge or suspicion of child abuse as required by law
E. Accepts, willingly, extra assignments and supervisions (e.g. lunch, playground, and/or dismissal)
F. Attends all faculty meetings, in-services, and other meetings and events as specified by the principal unless excused by the principal prior to the meeting or event
G. Is responsible for the care and use of instructional materials, equipment, and school facilities
H. Reviews fire and lockdown drills and emergency procedures and practices with students regularly
I. Provides necessary documentation for personnel file
J. Follows directives regarding collection of monies
