Collaboratively works with all Mid-Pacific Institute departments. Organizes programs to address safety, health and welfare.
The Safety and Compliance Officer of Mid-Pacific Institute will primarily focus on the health, safety and well-being of students, staff and visitors. He/she will evaluate safety procedures and policies for program and administrative activities. He/she will add and/or modify and implement policies and procedures as required to address workplace safety areas as set forth by regulatory agencies, legal requirements and industry best practice guidelines. The Safety and Compliance Officer will collaborate with educators, students, parents and administrators to review and determine safety protocols, crisis/emergency/incident response procedures, documentation requirements, assessment, training requirements and procedures. He/she will work to foster and maintain a school culture that addresses safety and risk in the planning and decision making process. He/she will play a lead role in the school’s Safety and Risk Committee relating to health, safety and well-being and will also be involved in other areas of Mid-Pacific’s enterprise risk. He/she will work with various external parties, agencies, consultants and service providers in performing the duties of the position.
