The Extended Learning Program Director is an educational strategist who can articulate and execute a vision for an extended year academic enrichment program, serving students from Mid-Pacific Institute’s Preschool, Kindergarten – 12th Grade, students from other public and private schools, and adult learners. The Extended Learning Program (XLP) intentionally designs curricular programming in alignment with Mid-Pacific Institute’s Mission and Vision, supporting academic day programs and emphasizing the importance of supplemental programs in the arts, technology, and entrepreneurship. The Extended Learning Program includes after school programming and summer school programming.
Combining the best attributes of an educational and an entrepreneurial manager, the XLPD oversees Mid-Pacific Institute’s XLP and supports the afterschool enrichment program and Summer School programs. The Extended Learning Program Director is supported by key personnel in external affairs, academic programming, and human resources areas. The XLPD uses sound strategic planning and academic programming to lead the development and implementation of a long-term XLP plan.
This role involves developing future planning to manage the resources needed to implement plans, establishing communication and collaboration between Mid-Pacific Institute and its local peer schools, providing technical consultation and expertise to academic departments and administration, and ensuring that XLP personnel are supporting the school’s mission and vision to their fullest capacity.
The XLPD reports to the Elementary Principal and works closely with the school's PS – 12 administration to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective supplementary curricula for the XLP.
