Interested in integrating media literacy and digital storytelling into your curriculum without breaking your budget or schedule? In this interactive workshop, participants will get an overview of 'Ōlelo's Educators Workshop, a service under the organization's Innovative Media for Educators (IME) program. IME certifies teachers to not only gain access to state-of-the-art production equipment, but enables them to also certify their students to receive the same access to these resources at a low cost. Participants will have the opportunity to test and review the production cameras and equipment that are available through IME. By the end of the workshop, participants will take part in a hands-on production activity that can be integrated into future lesson plans. If you have a story to tell, or if you are encouraging your students to tell stories of their own, this is the workshop for you!

The workshop will be led by Wesley Akamine, 'Ōlelo's Senior Manager of Training, and Jennifer Nakamura, Training Specialist. Together, they have over 20 years of production training experience.

'Ōlelo's Educators Workshop equips teachers with the tools to bring media resources into the classroom, regardless of subject matter. Through this service, teachers are encouraged to take full advantage of community media resources in their community, thereby empowering their students to better navigate the growing world of digital media with a critical eye.
